ImageStudio (End of Support)
The main features of ImageStudio have been integrated into StereoMap and were officially released with StereoMap 4.0.0 in June 2024. As of September 2025, maintenance for all versions of ImageStudio has been discontinued. The corresponding features will continue to be supported within StereoMap. We sincerely thank all users for their trust and support of ImageStudio over the years.
Due to changes in third-party server services, the upload function following image QC (quality control) in previous versions (StereoMap 4.0 & 4.1, ImageStudio 3.0) may encounter connection issues or failures. As a result, the embedded Raysync upload path within the software requires modification. For specific details regarding the update patch, please refer to the Patch_UploadConfiguration_202506.
This update does not affect other major features of StereoMap and ImageStudio. If you do not need to upload files after image QC, you may choose to skip this update patch. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and support.
ImageStudio 3.0.5 (Sep., 2024)
File size: 593.5M
md5: 9cf8e5b40ec0e2230e81f3613c927a05
ImageStudio 3.0.0-3.0.5 highlights:
Supported for H&E image quality control, stitching, and segmentation.
Added performance monitor for memory usage, disk storage space, CPU usage, and I/O usage.
Fixed several issues related to image stitching and calibration.
Fixed the quality check issue identified in mIF images.
Fixed the issue of being unable to import image files in tissue segmentation and cell segmentation modules.
Fixed the issue of being unable to re-do image quality control for the
.tar.gzfile of STOmics Go Optical image tiles data.
ImageStudio 2.2.3 (Apr., 2024)
File size: 859.9M
md5: c55657ecac3f1f073da9884cbf86bee7
ImageStudio 2.2.0-2.2.3 highlights:
Added Alibaba Cloud image upload configuration for Asia-Pacific Singapore region.
Fixed several issue of image QC.
Resolved the error encountered in the open tissue and cell segmentation module for certain stitched images.
ImageStudio 2.1.2 (Aug., 2023)
File size: 785.1M
md5: 34517827e1646461a0ed64b57c75be6e
ImageStudio 2.1.0-2.1.2 highlights:
Supported the re-evaluation of image quality control (QC) on
.tar.gzimages that have previously undergone QC.Supported for QC DAPI + mIF images from Zeiss multi-channel microscope.
New manual stitching method! The new method utilizes the similarity of overlap regions in adjacent FOVs to create the final stitched image.
The QC output image
.tar.gzfile can be directly used for image stitching, tissue segmentation, and cell segmentation modules without requiring SAW processing. The rectangle auto-segment tool in the tissue and cell segmentation module has been divided into two options: Replace and Update. The replace option will completely replace the old mask with the new mask in the area you selected. In contrast, the update option will only modify the mask in the selected region while leaving the rest of the mask unchanged.
ImageStudio 2.0.2 (May, 2023)
File size: 703.0M
md5:c67e9acb33a2a1dce5e49263ade7d440
ImageStudio 2.0.0-2.0.2 highlights:
Supported for QC DAPI and up to 6 multi-immunofluorescence (mIF) images in a image QC task. The supported IF image type is single-channel immunofluorescence image.
Supported for manually stitching DAPI image.
Added a new Calibration module for matching IF images with DAPI image based on their morphological features.
Tissue segmentation in an IF image utilizes immunofluorescence intensity. The "tissue" area is determined by setting an IF intensity threshold. By adjusting the minimum and maximum cutoff values, pixels with intensities within this range are identified and marked as the "tissue" region.
Cell segmentation in an IF image uses both the DAPI cell mask and the IF tissue mask. IF cell segmentation identifies DAPI-stained cells that are located within the IF-defined tissue area.
Fix several issues of image QC for DAPI+mIF images.
Update technical support contact email.
ImageStudio 1.2.0 (Apr., 2023)
ImageStudio 1.2.0 highlights:
Added AWS upload configuration for Asia-Pcific (Singapore) and America (California).
ImageStudio 1.1.0 (Mar., 2023)
File size: 674.5M
md5: 26f22c2a0f17121012f3c04387ec9b1c
ImageStudio 1.1.0 highlights:
Fix the issue of unable to open image QC module on Windows 10 Home and Enterprise edition.
Fix the out-of-memory issue when performing QC tasks on multiple images simultaneously.
ImageStudio 1.0.0 (Feb., 2023)
File size: 646.9M
md5: 3bba473acdeacfa352c0a44ff0898438
ImageStudio 1.0.0 highlights:
The initial release of the Stereo-seq desktop application for image processing, including Image QC, Image Stitching, Tissue Segmentation and Cell Segmentation.
Image Stitching: marking trackline intersections to assist in stitching images.
Tissue Segmentation:
Rectangle Lasso and Auto-Detection: This tool allows you to draw a rectangular selection, and ImageStudio will automatically identify tissue regions within the selected area. It's useful for quickly selecting large regions.
Polygonal Lasso: This tool lets you create an irregularly shaped region for segmentation. It's ideal for selecting large regions with more precision than the rectangle lasso.
Brush and Eraser: These tools enable you to manually paint over areas to include or exclude them from the selection, making them useful for fine-tuning the segmentation.
Cavity Filling and Noise Filtering: These tools fill gaps and remove small, irrelevant details from the image.
Cell Segmentation:
Brush and Eraser: These tools allow you to manually paint over cell areas to include or exclude them from the selection, making them useful for fine-tuning the segmentation.
Auto-Detection: Automatically identifies cell areas, performing particularly well in regions where cells are sparse.
